gridlore: Doug looking off camera with a grin (Music - Iron Maiden)
Little known fact: Harold Camping started this whole thing when he heard that I was ending HMS. He just miscalculated how many videos I have left in the queue. But anyway, since I fully expect to be one of the select lifted into Metal Heaven at six o'clock, let me get one last video in. Most people, when look for the latest in apocalyptic news, consult the Revelation of St John the Divine, the Bible's final, and most interesting book. You need evidence of how it was written, just realize that psychotropic mushrooms thrive on the island of Patmos, where the book was written between epic fits of giggling, runs to the local take-away lamb place, and really intense discussions about how weird your hands look when you really look at them, y'know?

Sadly, the entire thing is nothing but a coded attack on the Roman Empire, sort of a political cartoon but much wordier. But don't despair! This morass of hallucinogen-inspired political wankery does serve a useful purpose! It inspired Iron Maiden to write several songs, the two best of which we feature here. So enjoy Revelations and The Number of the Beast as you wait for the end of all things.
