Small steps forward.
Feb. 28th, 2011 09:11 amLast night I slept on the futon. The nasal wash has done such a good job of clearing my sinuses that I was able to sleep flat for the first time in weeks. Being able to sleep on my side comfortably (my normal sleep position) meant my best night's sleep in many days. I'm sleeping in the front half of the apartment simply because the logistics of getting my airhose back to the bedroom and being able to sleep without disturbing Kirsten are daunting.
I've also made a major lifestyle change. I'm seriously cutting back on the amount of soda I drink and switching from Coke to Mt. Dew most of the time. The news about the health effects of the coloring used in Coke was the finall straw. I need my caffeine, but the Dew works just fine for me. In any event, I'm going to try to switch to more healthy drinks like Gatorade and water and keep the soda consumption down.
Been getting a lot of use out of my little pulse/oxygen monitor. I'm staying in 90%+ oxygen level range while on my O2 feed, but any activity drives my pulse way over 100bpm. I'm wondering how much of this is related to the Prednisone. Whatever it is, it's annoying. I am a little more capable these days. I dressed myself this morning without difficulty and am moving around the apartment slowly, but getting where I need to go. Still need to rest frequently, but better than before.
One annoyance is food. Since I'm back on Prednisone, I'm back to EAT ALL THE THINGS! mode. However, I'm not really able to get up and make the food I want. A bit later I'm going to try to get up and make a couple of peanut butter sandwiches. Filling and good protein.
We're back on Netflix. It's a bit frustrating, as we can't get the instant streaming thing to work, but I've built a queue up. First in line? Inception
