Bobby Jindal needs to stop whinging.
Jun. 3rd, 2010 12:17 pmRemember him? Conservative governor of Louisiana who mocked government spending on volcano watches a week before Mt. Redoubt erupted? Big advocate of a small federal government and state's rights? Him?
Have you heard him since the Deepwater Horizons disaster started. He's done nothing, nothing, but blame everyone else and whine that he can't do anything until the federal government helps him. Yeah, Mr. Small Government immediately ran to the feds to bail his ass out. Seems that our man of action never even thought of acting then defending his actions in court and the press. If you haven't been following this, Jindal was complaining that they process for getting authorization to build sand berms to block the oil. If I was governor, I'd tell my guys to start doing it, have the press on hand to watch, and announce that the feds could sue me. But I wouldn't hit all the talking head shows to cry about the federal government being slow. Of course it's slow!
But now the permission to build the berms has been granted. So all is good in Bobby's world, right? Nope. Seems Louisiana needs a big check from BP to buy the sand and pay the crews. So, Bobby Jindal, advocate of small local government taking action, is unable to do anything until Washington tells him it's OK, then can't do anything because no one planned in advance for this eventuality.
He's a moron.
