OK,
Tim Russert died today. A terrible, terrible loss. He was one of the modern greats of political journalism, and if you were a politics junkie like me, his interviews were pure crack.
But...
The world goes on. We have flooding in the Midwest, wildfires in California, wars, politics, and I'm sure somewhere there is video of a bear in a tree. In other words, news hasn't stopped because a newsman, no matter how prominent or admired, has passed away. I think the most fitting tribute to the man would be to cover the stories of the day with the same tenacity and honest that Tim did. I don't think three hours of remembrances are called for.
Of course, I'm me. I want my news.
