gridlore: A Roman 20 sided die, made from green stone (Gaming - Roman d20)
A new edition of RuneQuest! My favorite fantasy game of all time!

And from the look of things, they've done it right. The rules in the previews look clean, and very evocative of the Bronze Age heroic setting. Combat remains deadly, and I like that they've toned back the "magic for everyone" feel of RQ2.

The supporting products look good as well.

So, if I get this, how many of the locals would be interested in playing an epic campaign?

I can watch the Yankees-Red Sox, the most overrated rivalry in sports, play yet another over-hyped game. Or I can watch my old hometown of Columbus, GA in the Little League World Series. And see kids who still play because its fun get a moment in the spotlight.

Real hard choice.

I'd love to be there in the hotel rooms, when the kids get to watch themselves on ESPN with their names on the screen, and professional commentary. Seeing their score appear on the scroll at the bottom of the screen. I can't even imagine how cool that would be.

Columbus' pitcher, Kurt Goetz, is throwing 50mph+ fastballs with good location. Lot of stuff at the knees with some good break. Pretty impressive. 2 strikeouts and a walk as I typed this.

Go Georgia!

Clark and his team had been called to the scene of a very bad accident. It had been raining very badly and there was about 3 inches of water on the ground. When they got there the guy's heart wasn't beating so they hauled out the defibrillator (the heart shocker paddles for those who don't know). They laid the guy out in the street, attatched the paddles to his chest, and waited for the signal. Now at this point there are about 5 or 6 guys all kneeling around this guy waiting to zap him. Five or six guys, all of them trained to examine their surroundings before acting, all of them trained how to act in an emergency, all of them trained in basic science, and yet not one had the thought "water + electricity = bad". Let's just say this thought crossed their minds very soon after pushing the button.

To those wondering what happened to the guy, if I remember correctly he lived. Following the group shock, they decided it would be best to place him on a plank of wood. Of course, when Clark got ready to push the button again, he glanced around and noticed the rest of his team hiding in a nearby ditch.
