The interview.
Mar. 29th, 2006 04:48 pmWent pretty well. I think it was good sign that the owner had a signed Jerry Rice jersey on his wall, and my professional email (on my resume) is dberry49er. :)
Job sounds good. I'd be bringing the van home, and picking up laundry from hotels for their valet services. Drive the route, do the marking of loads for the cleaners, run little jobs during the day, then take everything back at the end of the day. Salaried, good pay, bennies after 90 days. One Saturday a month. He's looking for three new drivers. I'll hear by Friday.
Company is Blue Sky Cleaners. Yes, the song has been stuck in my head all day.
Since Kirsten and I were up in Union City for my interview, we wandered by the Fremont warehouse to see J and chat for a bit. The Midget was there, and refused to look me in the eye. Same old, same old at PODS. Amusingly, they're so short of drivers that the Midget is trying to run both warehouses while J and FatAss drive.
As we were leaving, I was polite and said a good-bye to Mario as I walked past the office. Kirsten was just behind me, and heard him mumble "'bye Berry." She almost leaned in to tell him "He has a first name, you know."
I love my wife.
Tomorrow, interview for a dispatch job at an alarm company.
