About a week ago, I ordered, for the first time, items from the Hero Games website. I was pointed to a great deal: a bundle of Star Hero books for about 20% of the cover price. I bought that and two PDF files for download.
The downloads came through fine, and a few days after my order was filed. my account was charged for the full order.
Then nothing. Since the confirmation order stated that my order would be shipped "immediately", I foolishly began looking for the slip telling my the post office had a package for me. After several days, I checked my order status at the Hero site.
My order was listed as "received." Curiopus, i sent off an email asking why my order hadn't shiiped yet. Today I get an email stating that two of the four books in the bundle were out of stock, and the printer was late getting the replacments in.
Needless to say, I am
very pissed that my card was charged for an order that they could not fill. And that nowhere on the site, or in my confirmation letter was the minor fact that Alien Wars and Star Hero are currently out of stock.
Check for yourself! They still show both products as available.
Seems to me this almost rises to the level of fraud.
This was my first experience ordering from Hero Games. It will probably be my last.
