What shall we do with a drunken penguin?
Oct. 15th, 2004 10:20 amLast night the NYC adventure continued with a foray into Manhattan for an evening of song and spirits. First, we had dinner at a "Mexican" place that really could use a few hints on what Mexican food is (hey, I'm biased.) and then onto the Village!
After parking on 4th St. (Positively, I might add.) We went to the tavern and had a blast. Since I had a shot of JD and three beers, the details of the evening are a little fuzzy, but I remember singing Take Me Home (Country Roads) twice, and doing a set from Rocky as well.
I also watched the NLCS in a mirror.
A great time was had by all, and despite earlier predictions of our entire party falling asleep at our table, we stayed until about 0100. At that point, we went to the Stonewall Inn (mark another thing off my list of things to see.) and then into the Subway.
Yes, my first experience with the NYC Subway system came while dead tired and drunk. Wheee!
I was impressed with how many people were out clubbing on a Thursday night. The concept of "the city that never sleeps" now makes sense. Even the traffic walking over to the subway at 0130 the streets were full.
So today is the wedding. I should start thinking about getting ready...
