Bonds connected in the fifth inning on a 3-1 pitch from Milwaukee's Matt Kinney and sent the ball over the right-field wall into McCovey Cove for his second homer of the season, a three-run shot.
After he crossed home, Bonds was met by Hall-of-Famer Willie Mays, who gave Bonds the Olympic torch he had carried a few years ago. Godfather and godson, two of the greatest players ever, shared a fun moment as the sold-out home opening day crowd gave Bonds a prolonged ovation.
