If the job you are advertising has specific requirements, like knowledge of a specific set of computer skills, it helps if you put this in the bloody ad!
I just called the people I had an interview with to get the address. While talking with the guy, he said he wanted to "double check" a few things, and started asking me all these bloody technical questions! Let me be clear. Nowhere in my resume or cover letter did I claim anything more than the ability to operate a computer and the ability to learn. I never claimed to be any sort of techie. But to hear this guy talk, I had told them I was a programmer!
After a few minutes of this, he told me that I didn't meet the specifications for the job. I lost my cool, and told him that the reason I applied for the job was because their ad made no mention of technical requirements. If they want specific skills, mention it!
