Begin the b-day!
Jun. 28th, 2002 10:08 amWith my 36th birthday fast approaching, and having had the big thing kicked out from under my feet (the Who show),
kshandra and
clairaide allowed me to unwrap a couple of presents early.
Kirsten picked up a wonderful set of cds, including The Who: The Ultimate Collection and John Entwistle's Greatest. We spent the evening listening to those. Rose picked up a wonderful book about life on the cable cars, as told by the conductors and gripmen. She also ordered a gorgeous glass penguin. We need to find an earthquake-proof perch for him.
I also picked up the latest Harry Turtledove, American Empire: The Center Cannot Hold. The second book in the second trilogy in his alternate history covering the early 20th century in a world where the South won the Civil War.
Except for Entwistle dying, it was a good day.
