Give five songs, with links to the lyrics if possible, that you feel are the soundtrack to your movie and describe you the best.
1. Billy Joel - My Life The first theme song of my life, I think I decided that this was my song when I was eight. My mom was a bit shocked when I told her, then realized it was just my personality.
2. Peter Gabriel - Family Snapshot Combines my lifelong need for approval with the skills I learned as an Army sniper. I've never come close to doing what the anonymous shooter in the song does, but it could have been different.
3. The Grateful Dead - Touch of Grey Even before I knew I had cancer, this was one of the songs that defined my view on life. Whatever comes, no matter how bad it gets, I will survive.
4. The Eagles - Get Over It Compared to most of my friends, I'm a conservative. But this song sums up my feelings on any number of topics surrounding those people who seem to think that nothing is ever their fault, and tend to fall apart at the slightest roadblock. Hey, morons, I have cancer; and I don't let that get me down. Hell, it took Kirsten and my doctor years to convince me that I had to slow down! In the words of Don Henley - Get over it.
5. Aerosmith - Amazing This song sums up my feelings after going through surgery, diagnosis, post-op complications that almost killed me, chemotherapy, double pneumonia that almost killed me.. and I made it through my first year of diagnosed cancer with the realization that was going to live! There aren't words to describe that feeling. Every day is a gift, ever moment to be treasured. This song comes close
