and once there, I am going postal on Fred Phelps and his entire damn church.

They bastards have a new flier about the Columbia crew.

Warning! Do not read if you are prone to getting really pissed off and breaking things.

I vote we put him and his buddies Pat Buchanan and Jerry Falwell on an unmanned satellite rocket... Oops, does that defy the term "unmanned"...or not? I don't think they put much air and supplies in those, so chances are it doesn't defy it for long. Ah, Shroedinger's preachers...

I'd say that each one of those individuals are unmanned regardless. If they ever had such equipment in the first place. (And anyone who mentions that Hustler pictorial with Falwell's hooker should please note what she said about his urine delivery system - the point is made.) Thus, any spacegoing vessel they are on would qualify.

It's pretty low, even for Freddy, but my response to such things never changes - "the First Amendment is a wonderful thing."

Agreed,

As much as I hate what someone says, I'll be there (and have been) on the front lines protecting their right to say it.

Makes me wonder if he'll ever walk into a bar with a veteran in it and fail to get asked to "step outside."

Unfortunately that EXACTLY what he wants.

1) The story then gets him lots of publicity.
2) He sues the person for assault.

Phelps and family don't have jobs and they get very few donations, but many of them are lawyers and they sue anyone who physically touches them for assault.

Many times when training for Safety Crew, we were reminded "Don't touch the person you are dealing with." We could talk, we could block, but we couldn't initiate contact or restrain someone.

Hey, am I the only person who remembers Madeline Murray O'Hare? She liked to bark at people too, especially people who got physical with her. Of course, she suddenly disappeared off the map for a few years... Remember, it's hard for someone to sue if they've joined Jimmy Hoffa, you know? Not that I'm condoning violence at all. Oh no. Not at all. Just saying that, were a person to want to put this rabid little fucker down once and for all, don't do it halfway and don't leave any remains lying around.

I wonder how many other people noticed that his ZIP code is 66604. I'm shocked he hasn't moved away from such an obviously Satanic ZIP code. (snicker)

Phelps is a miserable little cancer. I'm fine with free speech, but I also wouldn't complain too much at this point if someone decided to take a two-by-four upside his head until it got stained a deep red, either. But that's just my opinion.

My first response was also anger, then a deep abiding sadness and pity.

Think how shallow and worthless their lives must be, that they can only strike out at the world around them with hate.

Hell, I don't even laugh at them any more, I cry FOR them.

For *some* strange reason I can't connect to that url. Either way too many folks accessing it or a DOS attack against the site.

But the title is enough to get my blood pressure up.

I often wonder about what will happen when ol' freddie boy stands before God. And God reminds him of a few Bible verses that Mr. Phelps seems to have forgotten.

"Judge not, lest ye be judged."

"Blessed are the peacemakers."

"If you do it unto the least of them, you do it unto me."

I couldn't get it to load. Probably wouldn't want to read it, anyway.
