The only problem with casting people--especially people you may have to live with--as a moral extreme is the fact it both forces a definition on you which denies you the ability to use the other side's successful strategies for your own and denies or at least inhibits the ability to cooperate with the other side in order to solve problems.
And, when there are only two sides, that creates endless problems with only limited solutions.
For example, the last debt ceiling issue...
Just saying.
I mean, I'm not fond of most politicians these days--on "either" side--but I understand that both sides eventually end up having to work together for the system to work. And--because I don't trust either party's motives--I'm one of those people who likes to vote for whatever party isn't in majority at the time in the hope they keep having to fight it out.
Will you please shut up? M. Rice was part of the team that lied us into a war that resulted in tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths and even more lives torn apart. She deliberately falsified evidence of an Iraqi WMD program. She was at the heart of every foreign-relations fiasco of the Bush 43 years.
Just go away. You're pissing me right the fuck off with you condescending attitude and attempt to project onto my friends. Any normal human with a 4th grade reading level would have seen that "evil is attracted to evil" was a reference to the two people mentioned in the post, not to entire categories of humanity.
Actually - she would've be a perfect fit for his all-gal security detail. [And the all-female security force is yet another reason why Gadhafi is still my favorite evil dicator.]
I... I have to break with my liberal bretheren here and say... I really feel sorry for Dr. Rice. :( This is the sort of thing that nobody will ever forget or let you forget -- misogynist friend and political/ideological foe alike -- and you'll get unfortunate questions from your children, from your family, from total strangers about it. It distracts from the very real and very serious things that Dr. Rice was a party to while she was associated with the Bush Administration.
Besides which... I really don't wish this on anyone in anyone's administration. (This is only a mostly true statement because I don't want to think of politicians being the object of someone's fantasies, the majority of said politicians being manky old rich dudes with anomalously good hair.)
I posted it because I found it weird and very stalker-ish. No love for Dr. Rice, I think she should be in the Hauge wearing chains, but it's pretty clear that Qadaffi was a few camels short of a caravan.
No arguments there! I can respect her for her accomplishments, and feel sorry for her for getting this sort of attention from Ghadaffi, but she's absolutely complicit in war crimes.

But, that's just me.
Disagreed with? Usually.
Evil? Not necessarily.
