I've been doing these posts for a couple of years. I honestly have no idea how many people actually watch the videos, or read my write ups. Didn't really care, for the most part. I had fun finding the videos and putting them up. But lately, it's become a chore. So when I finish the current line up of videos, I'll be ending HMS. I may post an occasional video that's particularly good, or funny, or really bad, but the regular feature will end. Right now, I've got about three months worth of videos left, assuming nothing gets pulled before I get to it.

But I need to some feedback: What should the very last Heavy Metal Sunday be? Suggestions for bands or particular songs? Classic or new band? Let me know in the comments.

But today's video. Wikispam follows:

Meshuggah (pronounced /məˈʃʊɡə/)[1] is an experimental metal band formed in Umeå, Sweden in 1987. Meshuggah's line-up has primarily consisted of founding members vocalist Jens Kidman and lead guitarist Fredrik Thordendal, drummer Tomas Haake, who joined in 1990, and rhythm guitarist Mårten Hagström, who joined in 1993. The band has gone through a number of bassists, but the position has been held by Dick Lövgren since 2004.

Please enjoy Meshuggah performing New Millennium Cyanide Christ off 1998's Chaosphere

This must have been the band's failed attempt to demonstrate that even they could do a better job of producing a video than their label.

Oh well, at some drunken point, it seemed a good idea...

I've never been interested in heavy metal so I admit to never having watched any of the videos. I have, however, read all of the write-ups.

I would say that if doing it has become a chore instead of fun, it is time to find something new. I am sorry that something you love isn't what it used to be anymore. *hug*

I must double-check after the computer is done with playing Nosferatu for the name of a parody metal band. Composed of members of hair metal acts from the 80s and 90s, they satirize the genre that paid their bills with deadly accuracy. Might serve as a closer if you like the sound.

Considering how much we both love Rock Sugar, I think it's a safe bet that he'll want to hear about them, regardless.

You can probably guess my suggestion...

Problem is there's almost nothing by QR that you can embed!
