Seriously, thats what I feel like these days. Only without the cool magical powers and level-draining abilities.
While I lie here (or over there, I have options!) trying to remember what operational lungs feel like, Kirsten is not only working full time, but taking care of everything else. Walking to the bathroom and back (about 15 feet, all told) exhausts me. So she's feeding me, helping me dress, making sure I have everything I need within reach, doing paperwork, pushing me in a wheelchair at the hospital, doing laundry, doing dishes, trying to clean the apartment, shuttle me to blood draws, and oh yeah, did I mention the injections? Since I got home, she has had to give me two injections a day of a blood-thinner. I tried to do it, but couldn't. Kirsten handled it like a pro. Luckily, this morning's shot was the last in the series. Any strength you see from me right now is coming from her. I am in a really bad way, and she is carrying both our loads.
So it is decreed: SHE NEEDS A BREAK. I need local folks to kidnap her for lunch or dinner or hottubbing or just an evening away from me. She'll be at P-con for at least one day.. I don't want her feet touching the ground. Hell, take her miniature golfing for all I care, but there is one firm, unshakable rule: At no time can I be the topic of discussion. If you decide to give Kirsten a break in whatever fashion suits you, I do not exist for that period of time. Talk about anything else, but not me.
You non-local folks? Messages of support are always welcome. Remember, as the sick guy I have the easy job, I just have to lie here and let mad doctors experiment on me. Kirsten has the hard job. Let's help her do it.

(Mini golf would actually be kinda awesome, now that you mention it - it's a good excuse to be silly.)
