I'm your dream, mind astray
I'm your eyes while you're away
I'm your pain while you repay
You know it's sad but true, sad but true

Looks like I'm pulling an all-nighter. The pain in my legs has reached a steady 7 on the 10pt scale, and I have surged to a full ten several times. Hydrocodone/Acetaminophine tablets aren't even touching it. Now the pain is radiating into my lower back. It seems marginally better when I can both sit up and get a lot of heat on my legs. Since [livejournal.com profile] kshandra needs to get some sleep, I'll take this night and sit up. Play some Nethack, watch DVDs with the headphones on, and just hurt a lot.

She did suggest a trip to the ER, but we can't afford it for pain. Even this bad. If I had other symptoms, like a racing heartbeat or extreme nausea, we'd go in a second, but right now I just hurt from the swelling in my legs. A late-night email to my doctor is forthcoming in which I am begging for strong painkillers. At this point I'd be willing to risk Oxycodone.

Hell, if I still had a client, I'd get onto IRC.

Long night, peeps.

http://chat.mibbit.com/ - you should be able to get to the usual networks from there. For that matter, there's a web interface for undernet.org, if I remember correctly.

(And yes, folks, I'm leaving this as a comment rather than turning around and telling him, because he's got the headphones on and it'd be too much work to get his attention. *grin*)

Hope you're able to get some relief. :(

in addition to compression hose, you could consider asking your doctor about lymphadema wraps with shortstretch bandages. You'd probably have to go to a wound care clinic to get them, because you can really screw things up if they're not properly applied. They were the only thing that got the swelling in my legs under control about seven years ago.

VERY IMPORTANT -- those are NOT ACE bandages....

I hope you can feel better :-(

I recommend both the compression hose and the short stretch bandages, but do be careful to go to a wound care clinic or lymphedema treatment center.

Hope the pain eases up soon!

Harold checked himself into the ER when he's legs got as bad as yours. I was just along for the paperwork.
You have Kaiser, I know the co-pays suck, especially if they put you in the hospital, but you need to get the swelling down.
*hugs*
