It wasn't even that close. The final two Seattle TD's came when the Niners were playing slow-down, ball control offense to run off the clock.

Alex Smith threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns in a triumphant return to the starting lineup following a five-game absence, and the San Francisco 49ers improved their playoff hopes with a 40-21 victory over the NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

I loved that last TD, when the commentators were saying (I'm paraphrasing fore brevity) that it was to give a team boost for the next game... and then the air got sucked out of THAT achievement by the apparent severe injury of the scoring player. D'oh!

And it's sad that the most exciting thing about the game was the Niners making it to the closing moments of the game with two timeouts left.
