Tim Lincecum just pitched a 2 hit, 14 strikeout, complete game. He had at least one K in every inning but the 4th. Those 14 strikeouts obliterated the Giants' team record for K's in a postseason game. The old mark was 10, held by Jack Sanford for a game in 1962.

Our only run came in the 4th. Buster Posey singled to left and stole second. For some reason, Bobby Cox called for Pablo Sandoval to be intentionally walked. Kung-Fu Panda is currently hitting below .200 with runners in scoring position. I guess he thought rookie Cody Ross would be an easier out. So what did Ross do? Singled to left field. Posey was off like a rocket, and scored easily. Manufacturing runs, that's how you win.

Giants win 1-0, and take the first game of the best of five National League Division Series. Two more wins, guys, two more wins. Tomorrow Matt Cain goes for the Giants.

Glad the Giants got the win last night. I caught part of the game and it was pretty good. I hope they can get through the series.

Generally I've been impressed with the Giants this season.

That's the first television that I've watched since I came up to Oregon last weekend. We got lucky though; I think the umpire missed the call on Posey's steal of second. Whew!
