And I mean that literally; my earliest memory to which I can place a definite timestamp was of the 1968 World Series (St. Louis versus the Detroit Tigers). It was with a definite flavor of schadenfreude that, many years later, I noted former Tigers pitcher Denny McLain's conviction for drug-related offenses....
