Has really only been a week since the last post? Time flies when you're having and recovering from surgery. But through the haze of the pain medications, covers month surges on! Dream Theater is an American progressive metal band formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by John Myung, John Petrucci, and Mike Portnoy while they attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, before they dropped out to support the band. Though a number of lineup changes followed, the three original members remain today along with James LaBrie and Jordan Rudess. Among other things, they are widely acknowledged to be one of the most technically proficient bands in metal, and are known for the vast repertoire of covers. They've been known to do shows where they play entire albums by other bands. On October 11, 2005, Dream Theater covered Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon. Dream Theater's official webpage stated that the second sets of the second nights in Amsterdam, London, Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Tokyo (October 11, October 25, December 4, December 11 and January 13 respectively), and also the second set of the January 15 show in Osaka, would be a classic album covered in its entirety. The Dark Side of the Moon was played again on October 25 in London.

So as the Bay Area burrows into the blankets in anticipation of a big winter storm, enjoy Dream Theater's performance of Pink Floyd's Time

Next week, the Crüe plays Charlie's favorite song.
