The long-delayed Lunion Subsector project is finally moving again. Writing Trojan Reach burned me out on world generation for a bit.

Lunion has about 35 worlds in it, and since I'm using GURPS Traveller: First In to do the worlds, each one requires a lot of work.. And this is just for the main worlds! I'm planning to go back through a do the fiddly bits for each secondary planet in each system.

Then I'm going to do write-ups on the society, cultures, defenses, notable personalties, the Storuden Cup Rollerball Tournament, etc..

This isn't for publication (partially because it goes against a great deal of Traveller "canon,") it's a labor of love. I'll end up putting it all on my website when I'm done. It's nice to write Traveller without having a deadline or editorial opinion hanging over my head.

A couple of interesting places:

A world much like Heinlein's Venus.. hot and wet. I've decided that this world eats colonies.. they just vanish, or fail. Now a new effort is underway...

A world where they are rabidly xenophobic, but also conditioned to be pacifists. Foreigners simply do not exist. Any contact is brief and unpleasant.

A gas giant moon, whose parent planet orbits 46 AU from its bloated red giant star (M6 iii). Because of the giant star's influence, the closet ships can get in faster-than-light drive is 208 AU. Very few bother to travel all the way into the system, and the colony has turned inward, making do with what they have.

And a cold hell of ammonia winds and caustic rains. 12 states compete for resources, each under a ruthless dictator.

So far, so good!

Noted.

I've been playing with doing the Lunion Subsector since before the Landgrab, now I'm finally sitting down and doing it. I'm not going to overwhelm other people's claims (if there are any) on worlds in the area.
