Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC)

Call him at 202-225-2452 and ask politely for the exact source for the Congressman's belief that any of the proposals provide coverage to illegal aliens.

H.R. 3200, Section 246:  "Nothing in this subtitle shall allow federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States."

I give the speech an A-, by the way.

Well, I guess we won't be seeing any of that next year. At least from the same congressman.

I'd call, but I'm afraid my anger and disgust would just drag me down to his level - and I don't like being covered in pond scum.

His Democratic opponent in 2008, who has already announced he's running in 2010, is a gent named Rob Miller. Ex-Marine, Iraq vet, by all accounts a pretty serious candidate who managed to pull 46% of the vote last November.

Well, within three hours of Wilson's outburst, Miller had received over $25,000 in campaign donations. Word this morning is that he raised around $100K overnight.

Up to a cool quarter-million by this afternoon, and all reports are that Rep. Wilson is being shunned by his GOP colleagues.

It was actually over $400k at 4 PM Eastern this afternoon. To put that in context, Mr. Miller only raised $340K in all of 2008. He's beat that by at least $60,000 in 18 hours.
