All things considered, if I can't go to the game I prefer radio over television. Something about the verbal artistry of a good radio team makes the game better.

I agree. I'll admit to occasionally turning the t.v. on with the sound off, and listening to the radio broadcast. Unfortunately, they're a few seconds out of sync, so that gets annoying fast, and I usually turn the t.v. off and putter around doing other stuff while listening to the radio.

I find the same applies for cricket, especially test matches. Watching a game that goes for 5 days is a bit much, but the gentle burble of the cricket commentary has kept me company on many long work days.

Also, radio feels more in-the-moment. TV has all the cuts and replays and during the playoffs, the interminable flashbacks.

Yep. I never liked baseball til I had a broken car radio and my choices were Mexican Radio, Baseball or silence. I chose baseball.
