To begin with, CNN was making a big deal over the fact that the suspect shot Expert with the M-16 while in the army. So what? The '16 is an easy weapon to fire, and every soldier has ample opportunities to shoot the required 36 out of 40.
Secondly, I heard a talking head describe DOOM as a "sniping game." Right. Last time I looked, sniping does not involve automatic weapons and pulse cannons.

Date: 25 Oct 2002 01:05 (UTC)The scary thing was that I was reading about the same thing they were talking about (sniper hides in cars/trucks) a couple weeks ago... (I can't remember where...) and that it used to be an IRA tactic.
The news, so far, are making a bigger deal out of the Islamic connection than that. They've even pointed out that, because of a restraining order, it was illegal for him to own as it was...
