1. put your mp3 player or computer music player on random.
2. post the first three or four lines from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song (skip instrumentals and/or any song that gives away the title in the opening lines).
3. post, and let your friends guess which song and artist the lines come from.
4. NO googling!

1. You say that we've got nothing in common
No common ground to start from
And we're falling apart
[livejournal.com profile] netquiddler is fast out of the gate.

2. Distant earthrise long ago
Lingers at the borders of our minds
Mysteries spinning in the dark
In the frozen emptiness of time

3. And the road becomes my bride
I have stripped of all but pride
So in her I do confide
And she keeps me satisfied
[livejournal.com profile] dalen_talas gets the metal

4. That's great, it starts with an earthquake,
birds and snakes, an aeroplane -
Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
[livejournal.com profile] dalen_talas catches another player's error.

5. I was born into a scene of angriness and greed, dominance and persecution.
My mother was a queen, my dad I've never seen, I was never meant to be.
And now I spend my time looking all around,
For a man that's nowhere to be found.

6. I've got a statue of Elvis on the dash of this old truck
I've got a red bandanna hanging out of my pocket for luck
I've got Hank on the stereo, Bill Mack on the radio

7. I went home with the waitress
The way I always do
How was I to know
She was with the Russians, too?
[livejournal.com profile] aurictech gets the Traveller theme song.

8. Can you help me
Help me get out of this place
Slow sedation
Ain’t my style ain’t my face

9. Once on a late Cretaceous plain
A tortoise with a fevered brain
Beheld a vision grim and dire
Of desolation, flood and fire

10. Don't remember where I was
I realized life was a game
The more seriously I took things
The harder the rules became
Why am I not surprised that [livejournal.com profile] dalen_talas got these songs?

11. Run and tell all of the angels
This could take all night
Think I need a devil to help me get things right
[livejournal.com profile] netquiddler returns to make another hit!

12. 10 P.M., I feel the rain coming down
My face feels the wet, my mind the storm
Flashing lights as people race to find shelter from the pour
Moving silent, through the streets, they're mine, they're
mine
[livejournal.com profile] rfeceo can't remember yesterday, but he can remember this song!

13. Moving forward using all my breath
Making love to you was never second best
I saw the world rushing all around your face
Never really knowing it was always mesh and lace
[livejournal.com profile] lysana gets on the big board.

14. Close one there
Choking in clean underwear
Bleeding tongue
Eight ball pounding in my lungs

15. Here we stand
Like an Adam and an Eve
Waterfalls
The Garden of Eden
[livejournal.com profile] lysana strikes again!

16. The world is my oyster........ ha ha ha ha ha........
The animals are winding me up
The jungle call the jungle call who-ha who-ha who-ha who-ha
[livejournal.com profile] christophine says Relax.

17. I've done a lot
God knows I've tried
To find the truth
I've even lied
[livejournal.com profile] lysana wants to turn off the prop.

18. Well, you filled up my head
With so many lies
Twisted my heart
Till something snapped inside

19. If you're listening to this song
You may think the chords are going wrong
But they're not
He just wrote it like that
[livejournal.com profile] lysana gets four!

20. Nibblin' on sponge cake,
watchin' the sun bake;
All of those tourists covered with oil.
[livejournal.com profile] netquiddler strikes again!

Wait a sec. #11 is "Learn to Fly" by the Foo Fighters, isn't it?

Dr. Jane FTW

The name eludes me right now but #9 is Dr. Jane from the "remains" album.

I keep thinking "It Came Out Of the Sky" but I know that's wrong.

I'd dig through my iTunes collection to verify & remind me, but it makes PhotoShop run slower than frozen molasses & I'm trying to build a picture right now.
