It's fast approaching 100° here. The main computer is overheating, and so am I. I think air-conditioning is the better part of valor today. Heading over to the mall. I may catch a movie or two, see if I can't find the new Judas Priest album, and try my new smile on mall girls.

So, what do y'all do to beat the heat?

Hit the A/C usually, go over and see a movie, something to that effect.

I'm being glad that Paul's place has AC, since I'll be refereeing my game there today. [The pool is nice too - but it's out of service right now.]

There is a Heat Advisory for Today!

People with health conditions should head for a/c, so off you go!
I have a/c in the windows. Nothing very fancy for this old house.
My Mother has a swamp cooler, which we got for her at Fry's. She hates a/c makes her too cold. But it does keep her house about 20 degrees cooler which makes things tolerable. And she does live in Santa Cruz which usually doesn't get as hot.
The other nice thing about swamp coolers is they are portable, with no installation they work well in apartments. They also don't use as much electricity. Just beause you live on a budget doesn't mean you can't do something to make the apartment more tolerable.

We beat the heat by living in a temperate climate, in Africa. :)

Seriously, we have an AC in our upstairs area, where it gets really hot in summer; generally, summer temps rarely exceed 86F though.
