Friday I felt something pop in my left shoulder as I was replacing my gates just prior to parking and finishing up for the week. No biggie, end of the week and I'm tired and sore anyway. Except that it didn't go away on Saturday, by Sunday I was in a lot of pain, and this morning when I got to work I couldn't even reach into my basket to get my run. Yeah.

So at 0600 I get to tell my boss I need to go to the occupational health clinic. I then spend an hour helping a warehouse guy with my stops for the day (luckily it's very slow) and assorted sitting around before being told to clock out and go over to the 7th St. warehouse That's where our safety manager works, and he is the only one who can fill out the relevant paperwork. Of course, he doesn't get to work until 0830-0900.

Get my paperwork, go to the clinic, and it is packed as usual. Finally get called back. We got through all the usual prods and pokes, I get yet another X-ray, and the final diagnosis is a shoulder sprain. I've been given Voltaren for the inflammation and Flexeril for pain control. What's interesting is that I'm not supposed to lift more than ten pounds with my left arm. This makes doing pretty much any job in the warehouse a wash. What we've done in the past is have a warehouse worker ride along with the driver to do the heavy lifting.

We'll see how this works out. Now, if all y'all will excuse me, I'm going to try my new meds.

Flexeril is a Very Good Thing(TM). I was prescribed it a few months ago when my back was being more than usually difficult, and discovered that it helps a great deal with the fibro pain, so now I've got a permanent prescription for it. (Well, for the generic, cyclobenzaprine...)

I mis-read that as they gave you VOLTRON

I was just thinking Lions or Vehicles... Vehicles, definitely that one.

Or, as was pointed out in a Pyramid article, you could get the pizza when it's delivered.

Good luck with the shoulder.

I did something to mine back in December, and it's still giving me fits.
