Heavy Metal Sunday loves duets.

One of Megadeth's best, and most misunderstood, songs is Á Tout Le Mondé. Seen by many to be a song about suicide, a close reading of the lyrics show that it is actually about the certainty of our eventual death, and a message I think most of us would want to leave to our friends and family. It's become a fan favorite at concerts, with all of us enthusiastically singing the chorus in really bad French.
For the United Abominations, Dave Mustaine decided to redo Le Mondé in a slightly more uptempo way, and invited vocalist Cristina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil to perform the song as a duet. The resulting track is, in my opinion, better than the original. The video is well done, and as a bonus, you can see the original music video on the monitors behind the band as they play.
And a special bonus track! Somehow, through no planning on our part, Damn Yankees' High Enough became the "song" for Kirsten and me. So, in honor of 17 wonderful years, here's the group that gave me the chance to insult Ted Nugent to his face.

Date: 4 May 2008 17:20 (UTC)Tommy had left early due to not feeling well, so we got to hang out and meet Ted. The room was filled with Nugent worshipers. I was really getting sick of hearing people fawn over him. When we got to the man, we exchanged pleasntries, and then I congratulated him on an excellent show. "Yeah, best touring band in the world!"
"Except for the Grateful Dead." says I.
Dead silence. The look on his face was wonderful. He made a crack about Dead members still dying from OD's (this was soon after Brent Mydland's death) and turned to the next group of fans.
