List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs.
Hmmm..
C.W. McCall - Convoy Yeah, yeah.. but I've loved this song since it first came out and now that I'm in the industry and get all the references, it's even better. A great story-song, with a small group of truckers heading east out of L.A. growing to massive juggernaut barreling towards the Atlantic shore. Best line: "I says, callin all trucks, this heres the duck. We about to go a-huntin bear." YouTube
Radiohead - Creep Why wasn't this song around when I was in high school? Because it defines my social life perfectly. I love the choppy guitar work and how the vocals perfectly convey the creepy outsider. Even today I emphasize with the song's viewpoint. YouTube
Metallica - Seek & Destroy Pure speed metal at it's best. Simple, crowd-friendly, screamable chorus. I love the 18 minute version from Live Shit: Binge & Purge. YouTube
Everclear - AM Radio Another nostalgia song, but considering I grew up listening to KLOK (when it played music.. in English) and other great AM stations in the 70s, are you surprised this one is resonating? YouTube
Bill Kirchen - Hillbilly Truck Drivin Man Do I really need to explain why this one is stuck in my head? Especially after the week I had (10+ hours everyday this week?) YouTube
Barenaked Ladies - War on Drugs Don't know why this one is demanding "play me" so often. I'm not particularly morose these days. I just love Steven Page's voice and his ability to go from mellow to roar in a heartbeat. Break Your Heart is the same way. YouTube
MegaDeth - Trust No real reason, just one of my favorite tunes from Mr. Mustaine and the boys. YouTube
