What should I call you? Douglas or Doug is fine. At work I answer to "Bilko" and I've had several other nicknames in the past. One thing: Do not call me "Dougie". I loathe that name for very good reason that I'm not going to tell you, and repeated uses of it have caused me to turn violent. Seriously. I have issues.
How old are you? 41! Considering that I was given a coin-toss on seeing 30, I'm thrilled to be in sight of AARP's target demographic. I rarely feel middle-aged, though.
Where do you live? San Jose, California. Not to far from where I grew up.
What do you do with your time? Other than driving a truck? I read a lot, do some writing, and try for some kind of social life.
What are some things you like to talk about? (in your LJ) Events in my life, interesting things I run across.
What are some things you don't like to talk about? (in your LJ) Anything that I don't want to share with an audience. You might get a brief overview (like my meltdown at the dentist office) but I'd rather keep the details private.
Anything else you think I should know about you? I'm not a toucher. I don't like being touched, and really hate it when people assume that I want to be hugged or whatever. Again, I have issues. If we should meet, don't assume that I'm going to want to shake hands or hug. I'm just not like that.

Date: 26 Mar 2008 14:45 (UTC)And I'm very tactile, but I never assume another person is! That's just rude. I have been known to "throw hugs", though. That's when you stand away from the person, open your arms and wiggle your fingers. Then you announce: "There. Just threw a hug at you." :)
