I've got a good job, and I'm newly shorn.

One of those little personal maintenance issues that I tend to ignore is haircuts. Even though I prefer having my hair cut military-short, I tend to put-off and delay until I have to get the weed-whacker out.
I'd love to have long hair, but genetics has foiled me on this wish. Even post-chemo, my hair is just thick enough to turn into a bush rather than rock-star shoulder-length hair. And frankly, I have neither the time or money to get all the trimming, layering and other arcane rituals to get and keep Steve Harris-class hair.
Today, being a day off, we went out to do some errands. After almost leaving my favorite Vietnamese hair place because of the wait, I got a young woman who, even through the language barrier, understood that I wanted a half-inch left on the top, quarter-inch on the backs and sides. Now I just need to shave (oh, man do I need to shave) and trim my beard, and I'll look human again.
