An A for effort at least.

Last night I finally got a hold of some good cold medications. Still slept like shit, but felt that I was ready to face work.
Ha.
I was leaning on a pallet, sorting paperwork, when the wool stuffing my head turned into a rampaging herd of sheep, my vision started tunneling, and sounds became very distant. Next thing I know, I'm sitting on the (very cold) warehouse floor. Tim Da Boss took one look at me and announced he was not going to let me drive in this condition. You got my full approval on that decision, boss. Called Kirsten to come get, and after a stop to get some water, I'm home.
The big problem seems to be that I'm extremely dehydrated. So today is going to be dedicated to drinking water, eating as much as I can, and napping.

Date: 23 Jan 2008 17:18 (UTC)When I first worked for my current employer, they had a senior manager who was very much an Old School Trucking Guy, which meant that his attitude was that you should never use your sick leave and that taking your accumulated vacation days meant you were disloyal and wouldn't be promoted. He also did management by the "shout louder" method.
I was not displeased when it was announced that he would be pursuing new employment opportunities.
