01. Your live journal "user name" & what it means:
gridlore. Sir Arameth Gridore was one of my earliest, and most successful Traveller characters. I played him for years, and even had family members, his shipping line, etc. all written up. Since I hate having numbers after my name, when we got the current ISP I chose that as my email address. Seemed a natural here. "Arameth" was chosen because it sounded cool, and I was watching Howard Cosell interview an old football player whom Cosell described as a "storehouse of gridion lore."
02. on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) how well does your LiveJournal represent who you actually are?
I'd say about a 5. Like everything, I'm pretty guarded about what I reveal in the journal. Shields way up, Mr. Sulu!
03. how much about your life do you post to lj?
Anything notable that I think will be interesting. I'm very conscious of my audience.
04. is there anything you refuse to post about?
The grimier aspects of my health, personal relationship troubles.
05. on a scale of 1-10 how interesting do you think your own journal is to others?
LOL! Ghods, I couldn't begin to guess! Sometimes it is the things that I post off-hand that seem to get the biggest reaction.
06. from who/how did you find out about lj?
kshandra
07. has anyone ever joined lj because of you?
Yes, two so far:
aurictech and
soldiergrrrl
08. what proportion of your posts are friends only?
Very small. Like I said, I tend to keep things like that close to my chest and prefer to handle them in person.
09. what is your favorite interest on lj?
Penguins. You needed to ask?
10. Has anything on lj ever caused you to establish, rethink, or even change your belief or position on something?
Everything I expereince daily makes me rethink at least a little bit, so LJ is no exception. But no, there haven't been and deep changings in how I approach life.
11. how often do you respond / comment on other peoples journals?
Fairly often.
12. do you prefer to write in your journal, read other journals?
I find slightly more pleasure in reading the journals of others.
13. have you ever had something mean said to you or been stalked, harassed, or got into an argument/flame war on lj (or did it to someone else)?
No! The only real problem was when I posted my suggested 9/11 memorial and was called an idiot by some folks (which was entirely uncalled for, BTW.)
14. have you ever banned someone from your journal?
No.
15. who are your favorite lj friend(s) and why?
Confining to friends only (not extended family members)
eleri,
fimbrethil, and
valkyrwench
16. how many of your LJ friends have you actually met?
Several. Some at the LJ real space at BayCon, others at the Portland Callahanicon Annex. A few others here and there.
17. of all of the people on lj you know of, who is the most like you?
Probably
aurictech We're both military types, both gamers, both incredibly snarky...
18. why are you most likely to add someone to your friends list?
Either I like them, or Kiri does it when I'm not looking.
19. do you automatically add friends to your journal if they add you first?
If I notice at all! I really have little idea how this works.
20. what is the most likely reason you wouldn't add someone to your friends list?
I have no idea who they are in real life.
21. is your "significant other" on lj?
kshandra is my lovely wife Kirsten. I think I may have a second SO, but I'm not sure yet. (As the Clueless Fairy gives me an extra whack or three....)
22. have you ever wanted to meet someone on lj?
There are a couple of folks who I think I'd want to get together withm if only for an afternoon
