As part of our drive to de-clutter our lives, we decided to get rid of the ass-eating couch and the battered old desk we'd picked up on freecycle. Turns out you literally cannot give furniture away. I tried all the local charities, and none of them would pick our stuff up. So we checked out 1-800-GOT-JUNK. Kiri and I decided it was worth it, and we booked a pick up for today.
Not only were the guys early, they carefully explained the service, were very polite, professional, and had good senses of humor. They got right to work and handled everything with class. Well worth the 200 bucks to get our crap out of here with no work on our part.
If any of you have a garage/room/yard full of crap, think about these guys. We were very impressed.

*Or more likely don't give a damn, given their habit of holding drunken parties in the middle of the street in the wee hours of the morning.
