Just walking down the street, when suddenly it hit me! A 1967 Mustang, that is.

I shit you not. I had walked down to the bank and copy shop to get quarters and copies of a sector I'm planning on doing, and was crossing 20th Ave. at Taravel when I'm bumped by this little old lady driving a pony car. She's only going about three miles an hour, but it's enough to put me on her hood. The idiot was looking down the street for cross traffic while rolling into a crosswalk!

After a little hannering and screaming, she stopped, and I asked her, with as much profanity as possible, what the hell she thought she was doing? The... person tried to make it MY fault for daring to cross the street in the same city! She crossly informed me that she had been driving for fifty-plus years. I told maybe it was time she stopped if she doesn't see a 6' man right in front of her nose!

I'm not so pissed about being hit - no harm, no foul - but the fact that while I'm legally prevented from getting a job as a driver, with exactly one charged accident and no moving violations on my record; this menace is not only free to wreck havoc, but is doing it in ten times the car she could ever use!

Didja report it? Hitting a pedestrian on a crosswalk is a big no-no. Glad you're okay, though.

So furious about the incident I forgot to get the liscense plate, and waiting 45 minutes for the SFPD to haul themselves over there on a warm summer day was just not what I was up for.

glad to hear you're o.k. the last time I was up in the city, I almost got clobbered by an idiot (yapping on his cellphone no less,) as I starting to cross the street. I had the right-of-way. Got his license and called and reported him to SFPD. He had the f***ing nerve to give me the finger.

Being a frequent pedestrian myself, I definitely feel for you. I got knocked down (and *very* fortunately to the side) by a driver jack-rabbiting away from a stop sign (and into me) after we had made eye contact as I started to cross. He paused long enough to see me get to my knees, then rocketed off before I could get his plate.
