One of my uncles was a personal friend of Tony Randall's. They had a disagreement. My Uncle thought that the NY Met Opera was the best, Tony's vote was for San Francisco's. So my uncle would take Tony to NYC and Tony would talk my uncle to SF. I would visit my uncle when he was in SF. And yes, I got to meet Tony Randall that way. He's a sweet man, and very funny. And boy does he love Opera! My uncle was a nut too. It was fun listening to the two of them go on and on.
