I hope the home finale in SF went better than the home finale here, with the rain delays and anti-climactic finish.
Jim Leyland did one classy thing - he pulled Magglio Ordonez for a pinch-runner so that the fans could give him a standing ovation and one last "M-V-P" chant. He won't win - A-Rod has just been too good - but this is the best year by a Tiger in a long, long time.
I still can't figure out where Barry will end up next year. The teams that might put out that kind of money already have full-time DHs. I can't imagine he would want to put himself in the NY spotlight, the Red Sox don't need him, the Angels are going to have Guerrero DHing a lot. People keep saying he'd come here to play for Leyland, but the Tigers already have a DH that 1) is a huge favorite of Leyland's and 2) hates Barry Bonds.
