One thing that always bothered me about Doom.. why does he wear that holster? His armor can fire bolts of energy that knock The Thing into the next county, he owns more weapons of mass destruction than the USAF, and he's packing a S&W Model 29?

Because nothing says "imposing power" like a pistol built in 1896 and notorious for jamming.

He built a blaster that looked like a C96. That's gotta be it.
