gridlore: Doug looking off camera with a grin (Me - CAR -15)

Do not ever try to use my health issues as an argument against [livejournal.com profile] kshandra's ability to perform her duties at a convention. What is going on with me is none of your fucking business, and I will not tolerate it. At all.

There was one time all Baycon where I needed Kiri to not work, and that was to get me out of the hospital Saturday morning. Other than that, she did what she had to do.

If there is anyone who actually thinks that I'm so frail that being married to me is a detriment to her ability to work cons, let me know and I'll meet you in the dojo/alleyway of your choice for a personal demonstration of just how fit I am. Be sure to bring your medical insurance card and some contact numbers for afterwards.

Yes, I really am this pissed off. Yes, my health is dicey, but to try to use it in fannish politics is so low that I am ready to go on jihad against the moron who pulled this crap. She knows who she is, and should know to avoid me for the next few years.

Oh, Oh. A Pissed Off Gridlore. Always a Dangerous Bet.
Reminder to Idiot - We all Support Doug and Kiri. So that she can do what she needs to do, and he has the support he needs, dicey health and all. Please see all the Minion of Doug ribbons passed out at Baycon. And I never even needed to collect one, because he was always with someone else helping him out.
*hugs* to Doug and Kiri. *razzberries* to idiot.

She Who Thinketh That Con Duties Outweigh Spousal Needs needs to have their head forceably removed from their ass, hosed down with bleach, and then shoved back up so they don't disturb the rest of us.

Always the sign of a true friend. We've got a nice large backyard, but it's kind of public otherwise we'd offer to do that.

And I'm proud to be a Doug minion

I'm not sure how much con politics BayCon is willing to endure, but I know that it's chased several of my friends off of staff.

I am told that BayCon was a scrambling mess this year from a staff perspective. Whether or not this is true, I don't know, but chasing off people who are competent and willing to work is the kiss of death for any volunteer-run organization.

As for personnel issues, yes, the question of quality of work and availability is a legitimate one.

But if my work tried to bring up something like this on me, I'd use the "l-word" as in "lawyer" and "lawsuit" and there would be profuse apologies and possibly a head or two. Severed.

My goodness, I guess I'm glad I was in Oregon this weekend rather than participating in BayCon affairs. Me, I was extremely grateful that, in your condition, you and she thought to let me know that (a) you couldn't make Match Game SF and (b) she was willing to sit in (which was just fine by me, and she did great). You're both good, responsible people, and I don't forget that, ever.

From the times I saw her working, (which were frequent,) she was doing a damn good job. Kudos to her.

Emergencies can happen to anyone, at no notice. We have seen it demonstrated that [livejournal.com profile] kshandra can remember obligations during a crisis, prioritize correctly and, in a pinch, pass unmeetable obligations off gracefully (i.e. there was absolutely no, "What's going on; why isn't she here?") That is all you can ask of anyone.
