Tim Powers stole my brain!

I just finished reading Declare, the latest from everybody's favorite weird sf/f writer. To put it briefly, you will look at the Kim Philby incident during the Cold War, and know that Powers got the true story, that something on Mt. Ararat in eastern Turkey holds a power unimaginable... and the real reason why the Soviet Union fell apart in the early 1990s.
If you haven't been introduced to Powers' work, start reading it now! Try On Stranger Tides, his pirate novel. or Dinner at Deviants' Palace for the uncategorically weird, or Last Call and never, ever play Poker the same way again.
clairaide really introduced me to him (actually she forced a copy of Last Call into my hands and told me to read it or die.) So I must thank her for this wonderful addiction.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go hide under the bed and clutch an Ankh all night.
