Ultra-Consevative House member Bob Barr (R-GA) has been defeated in his re-election bid.
Barr was one of the most conservative Congress-critters, and was one of the prime movers in the impeachment of President Clinton. Barr also was a darling of the Christian Right. He holds a special place in his black heart for gays & lesbians.
Doubtlessly, he will find a job with one of the groups trying to destroy our civil rights.
But at least he's out of Congress.

Also on NRO's The Corner (a collaborative blog), NRO Executive Editor Kathryn Jean Lopez writes:
DID I MENTION? [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
It’s such a relief to know I won’t be seeing Bob Barr and his (R., Ga.)
anymore.
I had no opinion either way about Barr (heck, I really hadn't heard much of anything about him until his primary loss), but it was so nice to see McKinney go down in flames. And I find it amusing that Barr apparently grated with the conservatives at NRO, to the point that their executive editor seems glad he's gone.
