Congrats to Sam the Wizard, ascended to Demigoddess-hood this morning. 29th level, 203HP, 400 magic points. AC -29, wielding the blessed +3 rustproof Magicbane

Not going to do much bragging, just say this was the first time I've managed a genocide and polypile-free ascension.

One really odd thing, though. Coming up from the Sanctum, I never saw Rodney. Killed him in his tower, and then on the Plane of Earth. Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

Also killed Demogorgon for the first time. Elbereth, a ring of conflict, and "charm monster" meant I could keep him at range while I hit him with magic missiles and fireballs.

"Polypile"? Probably not as fun as it sounds...

Put a whole bunch of assorted junk in a pile on the floor (sometimes several piles, all in a line).
Zap it with a wand of polymorph.
If the random number generator is kind, you may get one or more presents from Santa. Sometimes really good presents.

One thing I always liked about you, besides you excellent taste in wives, is that after all these years you still play Nethack. There is something comforting to know the old school is still being represented in this world of 3D mmorpg. I may just download Ularn for old time sakes.
