gridloreBack from seeing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Very good, but a middle movie which means nothing really gets resolved. Great make-up effects, Johnny Depp is great again, and buckles are swashed.

The writers decided to slam together the legends of Davy Jones and the Flying Dutchman. Now, this isn't the first time this has happened, but it annoys me no end. The Flying Dutchman is the tale of Vanderdecken, cursed to sail the seas forever after cursing God while try to round the Cape of Good Hope during a terrible storm. Legend has it that ships encountering the Dutchman suffer terrible fates (other tales of course say the opposite) or that the Dutchman hails the passing vessel with messages for people long dead.
It just irked me to see the wonderfully spooky legend turned into something it isn't.
Now Kiri and the Dude are off for the Bauhaus/NIN show. My agenda is beer and Nethack.
Somehow, I strained my upper back, right between the shoulder blades. I woke up on my stomach this morning, which is not normal. That might have been the cause.
We have a functiuoning shower again. Yay!
