I think...

that I worked my last shift at Cost Plus last night. The bullshit level there has reached epic proportions.

1. When I turned in my new availability schedule to the boss, he complained that I wasn't available for enough hours. WTF, over? This is the same man who has been cutting hours right and left. Now I'm asking to work fewer hours, and he's bitching about it?

2. When I talked to said manager on Thursday, I told him I would work Saturday, but would prefer not to be scheduled for weekends in the future. When I saw the schedule for this week he has me working both today and next Saturday. I gave today's shift to a coworker and I'm not showing up Saturday, which brings us to...

3. Next Saturday is the day I asked off for my birthday. I asked for this, in writing, weeks ago. Sound familiar? The new hire kid (who happens to be the arrogant jerk son of our district manager) has the day off.

It's pathetic. I'm willing to work on the 4th but asked for two days around it. And that's beyond the boss's ability to grant.

I also just don't care anymore. I'm sick of dealing with morons with American Express Plutonium cards. There were three occasions yesterday where I came this close to taking my apron off, dropping it on the counter and announcing to the jerk in front of me "Fuck you, I quit."

Obviously, I was never meant for retail. I'm just not a seller. As far as I'm concerned, if you want it, buy it.

So I'm going to wait until Wednesday to see if I'm really comfortable at Atwood Dental, and then quit Cost Plus. I'd wait until Friday to do it to stick it to the general manager, but I have too much respect for the AMs who close Saturdays to do that to them.
