gridloreGovernor Jane Swift of Massachusetts has selected a gay man to run with her ad Lt. Governor. Read the story.
OK, great news, but what struck me was this paragraph:
"The winning combination for Republicans in Massachusetts is to develop a liberal cultural agenda, with groups like women and gays, while maintaining a fiscal conservative policy to appeal to suburban voters," said Lou DiNatale, a senior fellow at the McCormack Institute of Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
Gosh. Fiscally conservative while socially liberal? Wake up morons, those were the values that the GOP was founded on! If the California branch of the party was run on that platform, I'd reregister today!
It will be interesting to see if Gov Swift continues to get broad support from voters on both sides of the fence.
