Last night, Rafael Furcal, shortstop for the Atlanta Braves, pulled off a trick that had only been done 11 times before in Major League history: the unassisted triple play.

With runners on first and second, Furcal made a leaping grab of Woody Williams' line drive. Out #1. He then stepped on second base to get out #2 since the runner on second hadn't managed to get back to the base. Furcal then tagged the runner from first for the third out. Watching the highlight, I don't think Furcal really understood what he did until somebody pointed it out.

San Francisco Giants: 5
Philadelphia Phillies: 2

The Giants used their 13th starting pitcher of the season, rookie Kevin Correia. He went six innings (three longer than he's ever pitched at any level) and gave up 7 hits, 4 walks, and one run. Pretty impressive.
