Damn my eyes!
Oct. 27th, 2020 12:12 pmI've been having increasing problems with focusing recently. It's been about 18 months since my last eye exam, so I made an appointment with the optometrist at our local Target. It's easier to pay their fee than go through the maze of getting a referral through my primary.
But now I need that referral, this time to an ophthalmologist. Dr. Shah found a cataract in my left eye, probably related to the acute bilateral granulomatous iridocyclitis I went through in 2003. So we need to see if surgery is called for in my case. Oh, joy.
As a bonus kick in the pants, my boss called. The latest new plan is to hold off reopening the schools until after the winter holidays. Which makes sense, the old plan would have had classes starting two weeks before the Thanksgiving break, then three weeks to the two-week Christmas/New Years' break. Better to wait.
Eye surgery. My eyes are the one thing I'm paranoid about, so the prospect of someone getting in there with a knife or lasers is freaking me out.
