This fall I will be running an Earthdawn campaign using the Savage Worlds RPG. This will be a campaign of exploration, mysteries, and horror. There will be lots of problem-solving and puzzles. Combat will not be the main focus, although it will happen. This will be what might be called a magicpunk game, and there will be airships. Because I love dirigibles.
I would prefer that this be a local face-to-face game. If I end up using roll20, I will ask players to contribute to buying the GM upgrades that will allow us a better experience. This will probably be a biweekly game, dates and times to be determined.
I am asking for players now and will repeat this request as the summer grinds on. Ideally, I want four to five players, six is my maximum. I'm asking that if you commit to playing, that you buy the Savage Worlds rules (which you can get for $10, print or PDF. Locals, Game Kastle on Coleman has several copies.) It's a really simple system that flows well. I have a PDF of the SW Earthdawn conversion and will send it to players so they can construct characters.
Speaking of characters, I really want character creation to be a group thing. One, this will lead to a balanced group and I'll be right there to advise and approve. Secondly, this lets the players build connected backstories, so it is a cohesive group that sets out the explore Barsaive after the Scourage.
