We had an epic thunderstorm this morning
Nov. 9th, 2015 06:06 pmWhich turned out to be the highlight of the day.
It was the last day of my current writing group session. Half the class didn't show up due to weather. After that, I was supposed to meet the guy we've bought a very nice baker's rack from to get the actual shelves. Now, I use Waze for navigation. I really like Waze. But Waze has one huge flaw.
It lacks a "freeways and major roads preferred" setting. Going anywhere on Waze can be an adventure, and this adventure was in a pouring thunderstorm. Trust me, when driving across half of Silicon Valley, residential streets is not the most efficient way to go.
But I finally find this storage center, call the guy, and he says he's an hour away, and asked why I didn't call him.
We set this up yesterday when we picked up the rack. I told the guy that I was in a class between 1000 and 1200, and could be at the storage place between 1230 and 1300. I got there at 1240. Now I have to drive all the way to his home in deep south San Jose tomorrow to pick up the shelves.
This ate all my spoons, and I skipped the YMCA. I'll do that tomorrow before heading down.
